A confederacy of dunces got together in Washington D.C. this past weekend. A sampling:
1:30 - “[Obama] is the enemy within,” says… the actual enemy within.
2:10 - “I’m fine. I’m not worried about [my health]… If I get hurt, I have physicians in my family so I don’t care [about anyone else],” says… an obviously unhealthy obese woman who also thinks her family members don’t hate her for being a selfish asshole.
2:20 - “I have private insurance that I pay out the wazoo for!” says… somebody who thinks this fact supports an argument in favor of private-only health insurance options.
2:40 - “I don’t want the government touching anything. You have to understand, before FDR, people saved up [the money that now goes to paying taxes?],” says… a revisionist nincompoop who forgets that FDR’s presidency proceeded America’s worst private financial crisis ever (before the present one, that is).
Speaking of FDR, these idiots could use a little dose of, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” All these silly rationalizations are the manifestation of an emotion — fear. Pathetic. (via TPM)
