“I had a telephone conversation with the creator of the program [Seth MacFarlane], who is a completely mindless liberal who had an incredibly tasteless joke in the script which I talked him out of. But it was a sign of how much help he needed from a conservative in order to make this program succeed.”
—Karl Rove, imagining himself to be funny as he discusses his upcoming appearance on Family Guy (via ThinkProgress). Karl, I know you’re used to living in a fantasy world, so here’s a charitable dose of reality: Family Guy is one of the most successful and iconic TV programs in recent memory. Your only contribution therein is that you and your cronies are such caricatures of all the worst humanity has to offer that you are a stand-alone punchline to be exploited by a successful liberal-minded comedy program. (You know a little something about exploitation, don’t you?) Instead of focusing on a “tasteless joke,” there are morally relevant items you might want to think about — you know, the massive problems that you and your conservatives created and facilitated for political gain. Maybe it’s time you earned a bit of perspective by mulling that over, instead of continuing your impressive run as a shameless cheerleader and operative for the most evil team in town. Thanks.

Never leave home without it.
