inhuggermugger: Democrat FAILURE is written over EVERY major city in USA, except Giuliani’s NY! #hhrs #dprs #tcot #ocra #teaparty #palin #rush #hannity #GOP
There is so much to say here.
First, questioning the terms: How can New York City, the city where I live, be “Giuliani’s NY,” if Giuliani has been out of power for nearly eight years? By what standard is generic “failure” judged? Which cities qualify as “major” ones? Further, even assuming the existence of coherent standards, what evidence is used to support the claim that ”every” “major” American city is a failure? Here’s a tip: When you have no idea what you’re talking about — when you literally haven’t considered the meanings of the words you are using, let alone whether or not they are accurate — that would be a good time to keep the old piehole shut.
Second, inhuggermugger has the twin towers pasted all over his Twitter page. A funny story: Giuliani set up his $61MM emergency command center (complete with monogrammed towels) on the 23rd Floor of WTC Tower 7. This is obviously a stupid fucking idea, but I’ll point to the two most obvious reasons spelled out by the police memo he ignored in 1998:
- Location at a previous terrorist target
- Location on the 23rd floor of a likely terrorist target
Naturally, Giuliani’s command center was destroyed on 9/11, but even if it hadn’t been placed in a targeted tower, it would’ve been inaccessible. Why would Giuliani do such a stupid thing? Well, like inhuggermugger and your average conservative, Giuliani tends to talk a very dishonest (and stupid) talk and walk a very self-serving (and stupid) walk. Literally: Giuliani’s demand, against all expert advice, was that the site be within walking distance of his office at City Hall. He had special reason for that requirement — he needed a convenient spot to secretly screw his mistress. That same article eviscerates Giuliani on several other key myths about his handling of 9/11 — hence I will link to it again.
Third, New York City is comprised of 9 million people. Does inhuggermugger really believe New York is ever [insert mayor]’s city? New York City is one of the most dynamic and resilient cities in the world precisely because the majority of those 9 million people disagree with schmucks like inhuggermugger on just about everything.
Fourth, apparently Democrats govern, and thereby bear the most responsibility for, every major city in America. Not only do I doubt that, but what does that say about inhuggermugger’s own putrid party? Talk about failure in it’s most basic terms.
Finally, this guy likes to talk tough, but allow me to point you to his sappy poetry blog. Conservatives are such pussies. (Note to intelligent people: I only make fun of poetry, and I only use “pussies,” because I think that will most annoy tough-guy patriarchal conservatives like inhuggermugger.)
P.S. None of this is to say that civilization and its geographic subsets are actual successes. There are plenty of meaningful standards by which human society on the whole may be judged a massive failure.
