20% of the effort, in twice the time, to produce a bill that would accomplish nothing
Months after negotiations began, and clocking in at about 20% the depth of the House Democrats’ proposal, the Republican healthcare bill proposal was leaked. One wonders how long they would have continued to wait, given their extreme lack of timeliness already.
But here’s the best part: The CBO (Congressional Budget Office), Congress’ independent auditing group, projects that it will not increase the percentage of non-elderly adults with health insurance by the year 2019, and it will decrease the federal budget by less than Democratic proposals.
To put it neatly, Republicans are the government waste they complain about. Democrats, I give you that line to use freely in the media blitz you will surely execute in response to the CBO’s findings. Republicans, stop wasting our time and patience, you goddamn imbeciles.
