Marty Moss-Coane, host of Radio Times on WHYY public radio in Philadelphia, interviewed Jonathan Safran Foer this morning about his new book, Eating Animals. (Disclosure: Marty is my aunt.) It’s a great interview. While I believe that Foer understates the role that reason has played — and must continue to play — in both humanity’s moral awakening and in the practical mitigation of the state of affairs he laments, I’m impressed by his ability to synthesize reason and data with emotion and storytelling.
In any case, here’s my recommendation: brew some tea and calmly reflect as you let the cozy, soothing atmosphere of timely public radio wash over you.
