There is no “ClimateGate”
Dear Americans:
“ClimateGate” is a sham designed to get you to align yourselves with conservative and corporate political/financial interests. It is yet another misleading narrative rife with outright lies.
To confuse you further, the parties perpetuating this scam will continue to claim, without any actual evidence, that the scientists and the environmentally-concerned are the ones who are lying to serve some narrow self-serving agenda. Think about that for a second: advocating collective action for the good of the entire planet and the health of future generations is narrowly self-interested?
It’s part of an alarming pattern. When something doesn’t go their way, these lying sensationalists and their allies — politicians, lobbyists, corporatists, and garden-variety wingnuts — make up a baseless conspiracy theory that some part of the population will happily use as a cloak for channeling their worst qualities and beliefs — racism, selfishness, anti-intellectualism, and the list goes on. Recent examples:
- Barack Obama wasn’t born in the U.S., despite all evidence to the contrary.
- The public option was just a ploy so that the government could create “death panels” to kill off the elderly (WTF?).
- All of the most distinguished scientists around the world are lying to us about a climate problem that doesn’t really exist in order to… well, who knows what.
We can’t expect the people perpetuating this nonsense to suddenly get all reality-based. Selfish, whining babies and ginned-up idiots don’t have much capacity for betterment. But all you sort-of undecided people out there who might just respond to this “controversy” by throwing up your hands and acting like it’s too difficult to say who’s telling the truth, do some serious research instead.
You’ll never believe any of those liars again.
Sincerely,
Reality

Never leave home without it.
