Factory dairy cows are forced to lactate perpetually and pumped with hormones to increase milk production. Monsanto mainly markets its Posilac (Bovine somatropin, or BST) growth hormone to dairy producers in the U.S. because it is banned nearly everywhere else. Monsanto has repeatedly attempted to silence those raising concerns in the U.S. about the hormone’s impact on non-human and human animal welfare. Click here for more info.
