- Martin Feldstein, President of National Bureau of Economic Research and former Reagan economic adviser
I’ve been saying it for years: the economy is worse than we think. I don’t just mean “worse than we think” as in “we all think it’s really good to have a ‘growing’ economy, when, in reality, that ‘growing’ economy will destroy the planet and cause immense suffering now and in the future.” That is certainly true.
But stepping inside the conventional paradigm (for just a moment, I promise), it seems that even the myopia-afflicted Reaganomics supply-siders, who have championed the very policies behind it all, are beginning to see the writing on the wall.
Not that I expect them to change their mind about their failed ideology in the long-term. That would be nuts.
