The Pew Research Center recently finished a study on Americans’ religious self-identification (among other things) between 1990 and 2008. The above chart depicts the change in “no religion” identification by state throughout the U.S. The good old Northeast leads the way… as it seems to do every time. When you consider that Delaware and Washington D.C. are coded as being in the South, well… the actual South looks even worse. Still, more people in every single state are refusing to identify with a single religion, which is welcome news indeed.
