To Ohio, for the animals
Matt and I are off to Ohio in a few hours to gather signatures on behalf of a statewide ballot initiative (previously blogged about here and here). The proposed law would end some of the most fundamental abuses against millions of animals on factory farms in Ohio. Farm Sanctuary is helping lead the charge (they’re even paying for our flights, lodging, and food). The FS website also offers a nice run-down of the great things this law would do, if passed. But it has to get on the ballot first, which means we have to collect and submit roughly 400,000 signatures by June 30th, with a minimum percentage of participation from half of Ohio’s 88 counties.
The effort has been going on for nearly 5 months now, and this is the home stretch. Please consider volunteering (email David Benzaquen at dbenzaquen@farmsanctuary.org) or donating to help defray the costs of this massive effort on behalf of millions of sensitive creatures, who desperately need our help.
